Album Info:MRS (Malha Regional Sudeste, "Southeast Regional Railways" in English) is the largest railway operator in Brazil. Was founded in 1996 December, through the privatization of the RFFSA, the former state-owned railway company of the Brazilian government. MRS currently manages about 1600 km (994 mi) of railroad in the States of Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, connecting the largest industrial area of the Latin America. The main products transported by MRS are Iron Ore, Steel Products (Coils, Plates, Plans, Pig Iron, Pipes, Rebars), Construction Products (Portland Cement, Sand), Agricultural Commodities (Soy, Corn, Wheat, Sugar), Coal, Petroleum Coke, Bauxite, Limestone, Zinc Concentrate, and Chemicals. Several types of products travel along MRS tracks through its Intermodal Containers service, which has grown considerably in recent years. MRS currently has about 790 locomotives, and 17000 Freight Cars.
